Operation Christmas Child
Throughout the year we collect items to fill these shoeboxes. These boxes are collected from us and from thousands of other churches around the country. Each box then is sent all over the world children who may not get any Christmas gifts this year.
As a church, we collect items that these children need as well as small toys for them to enjoy playing with. By October or November, as a church, we gather together to fill these boxes and every single box is prayed over for the child receiving that box. We fully believe that the Lord will give each box to the child that needs it.
Last year, in 2018 our goal was to collect enough items and fill 500 boxes. And we met that goal and some. In 2019 we filled 520 boxes for the children with some leftover items to use next year.
Although the year 2020 was hit with a pandemic and we had to close for a few weeks earlier in the spring. We were still blessed with donations towards our boxes. That fall we filled 420 boxes for children around the world who needed these boxes more then ever before.
Watch the bulletin for details on what we are currently collecting.
Some members give handmade items for these boxes, such as wooden toys, games, crochet hats, and pillowcase dresses.
